64 Clark Street 2019

The house was built in about 1898 along with its twin at 66 Clark Street. Its walls and unusual turret were initially clad in cedar shingles, with slate on the main roof. The large stone arch at the porch is original. By 1969 the shingles and slate were gone, replaced by aluminum siding and asphalt shingles. The Wenzls removed the aluminum siding as well as a layer of cement board siding to expose the original decorative shingles. The shingles and the window trim were then carefully restored and painted.
